Yea I’d rather not have Neuvirth you can keep him. We can find someone better that won’t get as injured. And JVR is still in the market. JVR will take 7-8 Million dollars.

5 years, $7 mil per....I think we will see Simmonds dealt. Hextall can't hand out two contracts like that.... Can he?

Not when he has to sign KNex, Provy, & Sanheim too. So bittersweet to see JVR come home, only to push Simmer out the door frown

Knowing they have JVR coming back...this lowers Simmonds trade value because other GMs can low ball offers for him or simply wait till they can get him for nothing in the next off-season.

Isn't 7 mill a lot for JVR? I hear a lot about him being really lazy and not being that noticeable

He’s a one dimensional player but he’s amazing on the PP and at the front of the net. Good move imo but the $$$ is a lot more then I expected

Ya i think that is a ton of money for a player like that. But Flyers have the space right now. Could be a cap problem in a few years when some of their young guys need a new contract

Flyers are about 8.5 mil under the cap. They can keep Simmonds of they don't get a good offer.

Simmonds isn’t coming close to that. I would be surprised if Hextall signs him to anything over $5.75. If he wants more than he can take a hike.

Flyers have no cap issues whatsoever. We can easily sign Konecny, Provy, Sanheim and Simmer.

Simmer feels like the bad contract waiting to happen. Use him up next year then let another team make a mistake.

If Dreger has Panarin as a good fit for PHI you'd think Simmonds would have to be in a deal for him, right?

Dingle - how can you say Simmer wouldn't get more then $5.75 mil? JVR is getting 7 for exactly TWO 30 goal and 60 point seasons in his career. He and Simmonds, both 29, have almost the same track record for careers. Simmonds in 7 years has 350 points....JVR in six years has just under 300.

Where did I say he shouldn’t get more than that?

I said if he wants more than that then he can walk (or be traded).

That's my bad Dingle. I misread your statement. You are correct Hexy shouldn't go JVR on a Simmonds deal. I apologize for that

Because they have kept Holmgren far away from Hextall

Next year lehtera, raffl, Elliott, Neuvirth, and weal are all off the books. Roughly $14 mil. That alone should come close to cover Provrov and Konecny.
The cap will probably have increase by 3mil minimum, and that should leave near $18 mil to fit Sanheim, Simmonds and the young guys filling the bottom 6 spots and any ufa upgrades.
