Tavares won't be signing in NYI.....declined 8 years from them.

Still can't believe Tavares is leaving (assuming he is).

20% chance he stays with NYI. Still not 100% confirmed he's leaving. But he's probably gone.

Really looks like Tavares will be a Leaf or a Shark very soon.

I'm not a crazy biased Leaf fan, but am I surprised (though less now) if JT signs for the Leafs. I figured Isles were always the free runners, with NJ and Rangers were contenders. Leafs were always in the mix but really only a 20% chance at best. UFAs generally are going to make about the same money whether they go. What we don't know is what is players minds. Why does he like city/club/owner/coach/arena/travel schedule over another.
I'm still not 100% that JT is going to be a Leaf. But even if he does, does it mean the Leafs can get out of the first round or the Atlantic where they have to beat Boston and Tampa. The excitement of a summer 2018 UFA signing will wain with a 1st round playoff lose in 2019.
