I agree that if GMBots elects to move a player it has to be ROR first..... I think what his master plan is to start the season with ROR as the #2C..... see how the team plays through the end of December..... at that point he determines if it is time to move on.... see what ROR will bring at the deadline..... if he does not like the return hold onto him and trade him off season summer of 2019.
I still think that Philadelphia needs to get their hands on a top Center..... that is the team that I think might just make a serious offer for ROR..... they have the organizational assets to be able to offer a nice package.....

Just a couple of thoughts.
First, I think Duclair would be great fit and could be had for nearly nothing. He started last season really well with Arizona but fell of the edge of the earth after being traded to Chicago.
Second, I think if O'Reilly is traded to St. Louis, we should get Fabbri as part of the trade who could move to LW or 3rd C after O'Reilly is traded.
Third, move Rodrigues to LW. This gives Buffalo 4 decent LW's. Four more than they had last year after the Kane trade.
Fourth, I would move Bailey to RW and trade Baptiste to Edmonton. Include several conditions, similar to the Sheary trade. This also gives Buffalo 4 RW's who could account for 75 to 80 goals. Reinhart 25 plus, Okposo 20 plus, Pominville, (he had 16 last year) and Bailey (he had a higher pts/min than Pominville last year) 15 plus each.
Fifth, Mittelstadt was by far the best player on the ice yesterday. He has an illegal magnetic stick and I think the NHL needs to investigate him. It was nearly impossible to get the puck off of his stick. he scored 5 goals, and he would not let Pekar get under skin. From what i saw he may give Eichel a run for the #1 C spot.
Sixth, Guhle was a cherry picker yesterday, hanging out at the red line while the puck was in his defensive zone. I am sure we all read about his one great defensive play when he easily caught up to a player on a break away, and his winning shoot out goal. With that observation, I would leave both Guhle and Nelson in Rochester with Pilut (who looked good yesterday) to start the season and pair Dahlin with Hunwick and leave Beaulieu as the seventh defenseman.
Finally, since Mittelstadt bulked up and played well, I think trading O'Reilly is a really easy decision. Fabri, Walman and first. Would be huge and would not interfere with St. Louis line up. while giving Buffalo more than DATM gave up to get him.
