That defense is really awful. Speaking only to salaries, I think Marner gets more than Nylander. I think Marner gets 8 years while Nylander does not. Maybe Nylander gets more of a bridge deal at 4-5 years and around $6 million. I don't see Matthews signing for more than $11 million. The Tavares contract basically made sure of that. However, I do think that Matthews will be at $10.5, which would be 500k more than his BFF Jack Eichel.

Why would this be a bad defence in 2019? Liljegren and Dermot could be really good. And Borgman has shown in his rookie year he is fine. I don't know if Holl and Rosen are NHLer though.
