More than what they paid to get him and don’t have to pay 7.5m bonus. You are dead wrong.

You're dead. Why do we need Sobotka and Berglund? Thompson is the average perspective. We will take 30-31 place again.

What do you like about this deal? Why are we trading ROR for this? I do not understand

I like Berglund and Sobotka as good 2 way players. I like Thompson as a 20 year old with a ton of size. I like getting 2 picks.

O'Reilly has been available for months. I'm pretty sure Botterill knows what he is doing more than the guys on message boards.

I don't see any logic in this deal. We change the ROR which is 27 years old, for two players 30+ with contracts for 2 and 4 years for 3+ M and the average prospect. 2019 1st is likely to be late, 2021 is generally some garbage.

The Sabres are losing O'Reilly's point production. Replacing point production is a priority that should be addressed soon.

Thompson is concidered average? Isn’t he considered a top 10 prospect ? Buff will have 3 great centers in 2-3 years I love this deal for them.

Well on the bright side Buf's 3rd line should be good, they'll have 2 or 3 of them to choose from.

I’m happy with the deal. Two veterans who can still put up decent points and play a good 2-way game which was sorely lacking from our players. Thompson still needs some seasoning but has been a good goal scorer and has huge size as a power forward. And you can’t hate another 1st and a 2nd.

Lots of people overhyped ROR and expected 2-3 elite pieces and that was just unrealistic. This can be taken as a win and part of the process of Botterill building the team in his vision

You don’t, they were just cap dumps by Blues but they will be 2nd liners for you.

Thompson is a solid prospect. 1st and 2nd round picks. Those were the 3 biggest assets you aquired. And once again...got out from under paying 7.5m bonus.

Lol, you were a bottom 5 team next year with ROR. Not saying that to be cruel it’s just the way it is. You have a couple really good players and a lot of holes, filled with players that are’nt much better than AHL lifer type. It’s much better to realize that and build off Eichel, Dahlin, Reinhart, Okposo, Mittlestadt and stockpile picks to build around them than to struggle for mediocrity.

Thompson is the average prospect, he's not Thomas or Kyrou.

We were in last place without Dahlin, Mittelstadt and Guhle who would surely make the team this year, we needed to just get rid of the garbage, not trade their second best player for the average players and the end of the first round.

My guess is that Berglund is 2C until Middelstadt proves hes ready for that, then hes 3C. I think hes a good 3C.

Sobotka will either be 2 LW or 3 LW depending on if we sign anyone else or if CJ Smith/Nylander steal a spot

I like Thompson anywhere in the lineup with his size and skill.

I'd consider packaging the 1st and something else to get a top 6 winger.

Either way, the depth improved everywhere except center and we likely added 3 players to our nhl lineup this year.

Honestly,i think you are a better team next year now than you were yesterday. More NHL cailber players on the main roster and with 4 firsts in the next 2 years a bright looking future.
