Business before pleasure boys. TOR may never deal with us again but FOOK it. If it betters the club, you do what you have to do, just like they did with JT91.

Additional Details:
IF they do not match Willie. I would put Dubas in cap hell, wouldn't care. Pay AM $12M per, JT-$11M, Marner+Willie-$8M+. Field a defense with that Dubie.

Gorton coughs up three picks but this system is flooded with talent now. They will not be as bad as last year and they still only picked ninth. Trade Zucc at the deadline for picks.

Totally wrong compensation. Use the calculator, don't just look at it. Four 1sts go to TOR.

Total contract value divided by 5 is how you calculate offer sheet compensation.

Nice try! (I'm confused. On the NHL website, it says that compensation is based upon the amount offered by the new team; over $10M, four first-round draft choices. Does that mean per year or total contract value?)

You take the total contract value (in this case it is 7 years times $8,000,000 for a total contract value of $56,000,000) if the term is 5 years or greater you divide the contract value by 5.... if term is less than 5 years divide by the number of years to get your compensation value (in this case $56,000,000 divided by 5 equals $11,200,000) then you find out where that value fits in the Compensation Range..... in this case 4 First Round Picks.

If you're going to offer sheet, please do it correctly.

You got one part right: Toronto ain't matching an 8M cap hit this week. smile

So it has to be a five year offer? So what. So you extend him after three years, if he's doing well.

I think the sort of genteel bro-code under which GMs do not offer-sheet each other's RFAs probably has an exception for playoff teams that luck into one of the top ten centers in the league and don't have cap space for their RFAs anyway....

but are you sure NYR wouldn't rather just trade for Nylander's rights? I mean, who knows. Might get a better deal by throwing in a prospect Tor likes more than NYR like them, and you might not have to pay quite 8M a year, which could be handy in a salary cap, so nobody starts offer-sheeting Skjei or Vessey.

Don't understand why having deserving players making big money, is cap hell? What a silly conclusion. If there isn't cap room just trade a player. And if an offer sheet comes and isn't accepted, in this case, the Leafs get to keep 7m they have scheduled for Nylander and also 4 first rounders, and some may even be lottery picks. So tell me how this hurts the Leafs?

Thanks!

So I just offered Stefan Noesen $2M for 4 years. Am I correct in saying that this offer equated to a third-round pick?
