Senators won't trade Karlsson..... they can't! (Denial) 18-19 Sens

Created by: Faceoff84
Team: 2018-19 Ottawa Senators
Initial Creation Date: Jul. 2, 2018
Published: Jul. 2, 2018
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Please Dorion, do not trade Erik K. Sens do not have a 1st round pick next year so no reason to tank. Still , even with the trades propositioned, it is going to be rough. Here's hoping Erik accepts the contract offer. Also, lets hope prospects like Logan Brown and Gabe Gagne step up.

Melnyk doesnt want to budge from 8x10M and Karlsson want a minimum of 11M AAV (Doughty's money)... so either we lose him for nothing or trade him. What do you think is better for the team with the information provided

I know it's a rhetorical question, so yes, we will have to trade him. Foolish though by management. Why not just sign him for what he desires (apparently 11M) just to be safe and then trade him if the right deal comes around? They have enough cap atm, though we will see what Mark Stone gets through arbitration.

The trade value will still be the same as if the Sens didnt sign him because everyone is aware he is still going to ask for that amount from other teams I would assume...? What are your thoughts? Also, that Bobby Ryan contract...... the Sens have to shed that at some point.

atm the SENS gave permission to other teams to talk extension with Kalrsson, so they can see if they can agree to an extension before saying to the SENS that they're interested. The tricky part is that Melnyk wants Ryan and his contract in the deal... OTT will lose a shitload of assests with that kind of deal, Melnyk shed a shitload of money with his team expenses, the other team gets two roster players and the real winner in this deal is us the fans... we get a shitty team with no 1st with a basemnet team... awesome (and I highly doubt that Duchene will re-sign in 2019 as well)

Yes. It's an awful situation, with no 1st rd pick. Pretty much a disgrace. Lets talk about the Sens rise in about 5 years? smile

ehhh... with Dorion, I say bottom dweller
I hope that the fans boycott the tickets, the merch & SENSTV, that way they will force Melnyk to sell. IMHO it's the only way that we'll have a competitive team//competent management again
