At this stage of their careers, Hymen at just over 2 million is more valuable than Rick Nash. Especially at 7 million. De Haan isn't worth 3 million a season and DeMelo isn't a top pairing guy. These moves are all the typical, we need to make a splash type of move and offer very little substance to the lineup and creates problems in the future cap management side of the game. Fans need to think big picture and also need to stop going insane with the want for big moves. Most big moves blow up in someones face. Rarely are there ever trades that help both teams. The only one I can actually think of as being a win win recently was Johanson for Seth Jones. That was a fair trade that helped both teams.

Nash is on a one year deal which the team can afford this year, hyman is very replaceable, produced more than he should have last year and will be a ufa soon. De Haan is a legitimate top 4 defenseman and will be the second best on the team. Demelo is also a top 4 defenseman, probably a 4 exactly and just because he is on the top pair doesn't mean im saying hes a top 2, the pairings should be spread out. None of these are huge moves, but they a re smart moves that should make this team the undisputed cup favourites. There is also more than enough room to sign the three young forwards if this happens, if you want I can show you.

We don't need Nash, we need a good RD though.

Nash isn't needed but he is an amazing winger who drives the play, he should get at lleast 60 points on the roster. I think demelo is a good severely underrated number 4 and in the near future sean durzi and liljegren should also become top 4. In my opinion this is a top 5 defensive core in the league

He is not an amazing winger anymore, he can't skate North and south well.

I think he still is, puts up amzing underlying numbers and doesn't need to be the fastest skater as long as he is not playing with tavares

You u think he can keep with Matthews instead?
He had so many chances to capitalize in the Bruins and leafs playoff series and he didn't.

He is bottom 6 forward now.
