Description
I know I will get a lot of hate but in my opinion, a bridge deal is the best option with these great young players. These deals will make their contracts expire in their last eligible year of restricted free agency. When that happens 8 year deals can be signed, taking them to 32-33, albeit most lkely at higher value than if they were signed now. Then a decision can be made to part ways or sign them knowing their best years are behind them. If 8 year deals are signed now, it takes them to 29-30 and they'll be unrestricted free agents asking for 8 year deals that will loo bad halfway through, and if they are not offered enough they will walk. These bridge deals will ensure that the team has these players through all their best years, they may cost more like what happened with nikita kucherov but the contracts they sign will not look bad

I think you can bridge either Marner or Nylander. Certainly not both.

No way Matthews gets bridged - he's the only reason why that franchise has turned around. Tavares doesn't go there if Matthews isn't there...

I didn't want to make anything too unrealistic, but with the amount of cap space as well as marleau and kadris contracts expiring before matthews and marner need contracts anything, including karlsson is possible, and in my opinion this defense core would be at least top 5 in the league

A bridge deal doesn't mean he is leaving, but out of the three it would be the easiest to give him a long term deal because plaers like him usually stay good until they are 40
