1-year deal would've been fine, Richardson is a guy who might attract a 3rd round pick at the deadline.

Why the 2nd year though? It makes literally no sense.

Yeah I agree, this guy really isn't a good player, two years doesn't make sense for me unless Chayka believes his team is ready to contend.

He's a decent enough defensive forward who can kill penalties. Not gonna put up a lot of points but should help team who need more two-way play from their bottom-6.
