Even with a higher value placed on Gardiner...he's still only got one year left on his deal and Brown/Sparks/Borgman are not going to move the needle to get Provorov out of Philly.

A discussion for Provorov likely begins with Marner as I doubt a Nylander package even gets it done.

None of this helps us. Provorov is worth 3 Gardiners, Sparks does nothing since we have Hart, Lyon, Stolarz, Sandstrom etc. in the system. Brown is a 3rd liner at best and we have plenty of kids that could do what he does and Borgman is a 3rd pairing D man at best which we have zero need for. We also have no need to create cap space by dumping Lehtera and devaluing an asset. Look at the cap room we currently have with Hagg (our largest money guy left) to sign.
