Faulk...CAR I want you thoughts

Created by: exo2769

Description
Now that Calvin de Hann has signed with CAR...I no longer think CAR has had the worst Free Agency. (NYI was also up there) However, that's one more defensive position while needing to give ice time to Fleury and Bean.. So trading Faulk seems to be a foregone conclusion. NO???

I think CHI can give CAR help in what's still their Two largest areas of need. Large Centerman and Goalie. AND they're both cost controlled.

  1. Anisimov, Artem
  2. Forsberg, Anton
  3. Forsling, Gustav
Additional Details:
***IF CAR wants Ivan Nalimov instead. I'd swap him for Forsberg. Nalimov in the KHL was a GAA 1.98 SV% .942...traded and then GAA 2.59 and SV% .927. Pretty darn good.

CHI
  1. Pyatt, Tom

Minor trade...not really part of the point of this post though...

No need for Forsberg at this point, but w/e (seems fair enough)

I wouldn't be upset if this trade happened,

but Faulk seems to be drawing a lot of interest from teams so IDK
his value is on the rise

CAR is very thin at C. I think they would ask for Schmaltz, but doubt CHI is interested in that

I hear ya. They might be able to get more offensive prospects or answer the C position another way from another team. Maybe Florida??? They need to answer their defensive woes...maybe a Huberdae (or Bjugstad) Faulk type of trade???

Yeah I don't see CHI trading away Schmaltz for just about anything. He's got another ELC year and playing tremendous hockey. Bowman would have to be BLOWN AWAY lopsided even for him to consider it.

exo, YOU properly have the RHD slotted with BS as a 7-8. Unfortunately, we know he still will receive the second most minutes because of... Faulk most likely is a big upgrade and yet he, most likely, will stagnate with Chicago because of ... Instead of having to trade for him, I wish Bowman would have simply signed DeHaan. The left side appears to be weaker IMO. Of course, maybe CDH simply did not to play for the Hawks because of .... I truly hope Rocky means what he said in that a new dawning may soon occur because this team does not look to have improved from last year’s sheet show.

Yeah I hear ya regarding Seabrook. I'm not fully there yet. I know this post has him a scratch, but that wasn't truly the intent. Seabrook just needs drastically reduced minutes and play in defensive situations. He can still move bodies around and play the PK. He is indeed REALLY slow though. I personally think Bowman is planning on somehow shedding that contract soon. Maybe CBA compliance buyout...or to VAN with additional talent. Not a true buyout anytime soon though...and you're right, BS will still get 19-20 min a game

Seabrook is the definition of a warrior. He has been remarkably durable throughout his career. Saying that, he simply is way overpaid for the Hawks.
