Edmonton pass with that horrible contract that price has. He is good but with his injury history and conistency issues his value has decreased significantly since his vezina year, you would be looking to remove bouchard and the 2nd while holding back about 2m to move price.

I love the trade purely from a Montreal perspective smile but I very much doubt Edmonton fans will be so thrilled.

And after all that fantasizing, you still have Drouin at 1C?

There is definitley a market for Price, but I highly doubt a team would move that many assets for a goalie with a 10 million contract for the next 8 years. Salary would almost have to be retained.

Have to agree. Although world-class, the market for 30-yr old+ goaltenders with injury history is questionable.
The HABS are not trading from a leveraged position with Price, and would be best served to acquire younger prospects/picks.
They could then flip those assets to acquire a solid centre.
Bluejackets will be in similar situation next year with Bob, but his contract is not as bad as Price's, and Bob's durability/health history has been a bit more favorable.

Being an Oilers fan I would want nothing to do with this trade. Price's contract is terrible. The return is far to great for a 31 year old goalie. I honestly wouldn't give Bouchard straight up for him. Or Nuge for that matter. To take on that contract would require Habs to take Lucic, Sekera and Russell back.

Absolutely no way Edmonton gives their 3rd best player, their top 2 prospects, and a 1st and 2nd round pick for Price. Montreal is lucky just to unload his contract; he has no trade value. Expect bad contracts and maybe a pick/B+prospect in return. Your expectations for Price's return is fantasy.

I think the same thing ... Price could go to Edmonton and get something nice back, as long as the Habs took on Lucic, Talbot, and at least one of Russell and Sekara as part of the return.

This is wrong im a nyr fan and price has a fairly high value still its just his salary pulls back some of it if montreal held back 2-3m then they could easily unload him for a great return but until they do the return will be lower but still a decently high price for an elite goalie.
