noooo way we downgrade letang for petry. not a chance. a trade around brassard and patch (pit adds) is fair. NOT adding letang in the deal

Hard no. Letang is better than Petry. Sprong is already a good looking 2nd round pick who has been developing for 3 years, and Pittsburgh's window is now. Pacioretty is better than Brassard, but not by anywhere near enough to offset the other two parts.

I heard that PITTS wants Pacioretty but they want the Habs to take on some cap. So I'm working around the rumors. I don't mind keeping Petry and the 2nd, I wouldn't call Letang a drastic upgrade anyway after the season he had. He had a relatively healthy season and he still put up the same points as Petry

Edit: Letang put up more points but still not close to his projected 65 points.

Not sure where you're hearing that rumor

letang had a rough year but has a full offseason to trade and rebound. hes been a top 10 D in the league for almost all his career. petry has never been close to that
