I'm sure some teams would be willing to take him if Montreal retained 40% of his salary.

i think so too , they have the Pelle Lindberg curse still on . They have the bad contract like McDonald, Weise and goalies that we can take as cap dump before major renovation . Carey would thrive over there .

How in the hell do you justify the contract being stupid? 10m for the best goalie in the world. LLundqvist signed 8.5 over 7 years when he was 2 years older just 3 years ago.

Yes the Habs are not going to win a cup with him between the pipes. All you internet capologists can laugh all you want. If Price were to hit the open market, you can bet that number would be higher. On the trade market, 30 teams will be calling about him. If he didn't resign him, everybody would whip Bergy over that.

in two years Carey will become about a 6.5 M goalie per , tho he is due 30M in the next two years , after it's pretty affordable , i think he would have a terrific trade value at this point .

People like to hide the fact they know very little by pretending to know it all . Should we have let him go like Tavares ? This is your kind of management ?

I don't think anyone cares about the actual salary. No one can afford to spend $10.5M in cap hit on a goaltender. If Montreal retains $4-4.5M of cap hit, then I think a trade is a possibility. If not, he'll be extremely difficult to move.

No one else ? Ok sold , we need to call Hextall and say exactly what Chelios said to him back then .

Very few teams are going to have the cap space to spend 10.5 million on a goalie, my guess is a trade would involve not much of a return. It would depend how much salary Montreal was willing to eat. Or taking a bad contract in return.

We can take 25 % easy , 50% would need a king ransom tho . Of course we can take a bad contract as well in negociation .
