#1 Ryan Poehling

Was the best prospect at camp, and by a large margin in my opinion. You could also add most improved from all of last years prospects, although both standouts from last years camp were injured (Ikonen and Brook). He's probably the most NHL ready at this stage, but has already committed to returning to St-Cloud State so we won't be seeing him at camp in September. Poehlings' largest concern when drafted was his offensive game and to see if he'd fill in his 6'3'' frame (was 185lbs last year). Well, he came into the 2018 development camp at 205lbs all while not having lost any speed or mobility, and has been showing that great progress in his offensive game. here are two clips as a small showcase:

and this one from earlier in the season

things are looking very positive for Poehling! Can't wait to see him in the future!

#2 Jordan Harris

Was the biggest surprise of camp. Was pushing the pace during the skirmishes, hopping into plays in the offensive zone, and scored an impressive goals off a nice feed from Poehling. He was drafted in the 3rd rd in the 2018 draft, the reason most scouts had him lower in the draft was that he played in a highschool instead of college, so he played in a league as one of the oldest players. Harris is considered a small defensemen, similar to Mete. Even if he had a successful development camp, It\ll be useful to see him playing at a College level to see if he can keep up with older players.

#3-4 Jesperi Kotakniemi / Jesse Ylonen

Putting both two together because of just how impressive their chemistry was during the skirmishes. When both player were on the ice no one could take the puck away from them. Kotkaniemi was very skilled in making room for his teammates and was making some pretty sick passes in the slot. Ylonen is pretty much exactly what Timmins was selling us post-draft interview; Ylonen is all speed, and a great puck handler. Definitely want to see more of Ylonen. It really shows why Kotkaniemi was picked 3rd overall, but he does need to fill out his frame and I did notice a few times I found his puck control kinda lacking (he dropped the puck multiples times while attempting zone entries).
