Craig Anderson?

Created by: SmugTkachuk
Team: 2018-19 Calgary Flames
Initial Creation Date: Jul. 9, 2018
Published: Jul. 9, 2018
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Trade only works if we can get rid of Brouwer and Stone, Brouwer being the more difficult of the two I think we would unfortunately be looking at a buyout.

I am not sure if I like the goalie tandem that much, obviously much more experience but both guys are going to want the net all the time. I think internal competition is great but these guys are past that point in their careers. Anderson would buy us one more year for the young guys to get better in the AHL.

Anderson is a good goalie, but for me that tandem is too old, both guys are injury prone too. However I appreciate the creative idea

Honestly I don't disagree with you one bit. It would always be one of them on the shelf and Rittich going up and down between Stockton and I was thinking about it, I would want Parsons in the AHL for a full year, so its either Gilles or Rittich is traded or one of them rides the pine with the big club.

As long as they both (goalies) don't get injured at the same time this could work... Well only if we could still buy out Brouwer and as the buy out period is over...
"The buyout period begins the later of June 15 or 48 hours after the Stanley Cup Final ends. It concludes on June 30 at 5 pm EST"
This being said there is a small chance of the club getting a "Buyouts Outside of the Regular Period"... This requires
"Clubs whom have 1 or more arbitration filings may be permitted to perform a buyout outside of the regular window. This gives teams another opportunity to become cap compliant following an arbitration case"

This is a really solid goaltending tandem. Like, really solid. The VGK crease last year and that injury situation was a statistical outlier. CGY has Gillies and/or maybe Rittich to give it a go if need be at 3G and 4G depth.

Very unlikely both guys are injured at the same time here. And both are very solid veteran goalies. Anderson would be very useful in CGY.
