Columbus won't move Panarin until they're fully convinced they don't have a shot of signing him long-term. A move like this would entice Seguin into resigning though. Have those two play together?

Sounds like he wants out of Ohio in general, but yeah who knows at this point...

To me, I'd put Panarin on the second line to try to rejuvenate both Spezza and Nichsuhkin's careers. Then stack up the PP1.

Of course, I'd only really like this deal if he re-signs, even for just a 2-4 year deal or so.

The Central is just so stacked right now. I would honestly sell out at this point an cash Seguin in for assets because I don't see them besting St. Louis, Nashville, or Winnipeg this season. The Stars core is still not as good as the Hawks particularly when it comes to the playoffs so I think the window has closed on this Stars core winning unless they pickup a shutdown D who can absorb big minutes like Josi, Suter, Petro, and Kieth do in the division

It's a good thing you're not the GM then. I'd say the Stars are about two good trades away from being a solid contender.

So what are those two good trades then? Who is willing? Who are they for and what are the Stars willing to give up?

Pacioretty would be a solid fit with us and could be had for fairly cheap.

Put Nichushkin back up with Benn & Seguin .. reunite Patch and Radulov with either Faksa or Spezza up the middle.

Sell Seguin? Yikes. The Stars missed the playoffs this year because of one bad road stretch. It wouldn't even remotely surprise me to see them in the Cup final with another addition or two.
