Bergevin is not trading or moving anything this summer

Description
Bergevin is facing a wall, MTL has nothing to trade except Price & Weber, however if MB does trade one or the other that would mean that the rebuild is on. I believe that Paccioretty will not be dealt this summer but will be gone by the trade deadline in February. Bergevin will try to make the habs better via trade for pacc at the deadline & via the draft #lose4hughes and mostly via the free agency of next summer where big names such as wheeler, seguin, karlsson.... are available ( not saying that they will still be but its a more interesting market than the one we have now).
Bergevin's summer will end by signing RFA Armia & Danault. No trades, no nothing.
Fingers will be crossed till december when Weber will be back on ice.
Please change my mind, i love my habs but its a never ending cycle of destruction with MB

What has Rychel done to earn a million dollars? He was given to Montreal because TO didn't want his contract on the books.

Montreal are in between right now. Because of Price, they are never in rebuilding mode. He can win it all by himself. I would wait until December to know where to go. Keep Pacioretty until the next trade deadline and he will fetch at least a first round pick anyway.

There will be a battle in camp for a few spots.

I'm of a mind to hold on to Pacioretty until the deadline too. Worst comes to worst, he's got the same value in trade as he does now. But if he starts strong, his value will go up. Figure his return will be somewhere between E. Kane and Rick Nash's last year if he comes into the deadline on track to score between 25-35 goals.

I don't think you can compare anyone to what Nash got. BOS was insanely stupid to give that much for him. Massive outlier.

That's probably a fair comment. But certainly, if he has an up year, that's silly season for a lot of gms so the haul might be good. Probably closer to Kane's.

I think he holds the most value before the season starts as a team will pay more for having his services longer.

MTL needs a 1st round pick for Pacioretty, at the minimum.

I agree but the closer you get to the TDL, it will all depend on how he has played whereas now I would think most GM's would see last years drop in production as an outlier.
