Great signing for the blues. I guess Patty was willing to take a discount so he could play where his son lives. However, I think this 1 year deal might come back to bite him a bit. With St. Louis's crazy forward depth, he'll be playing limited minutes on the 3rd line. After 2 seasons of getting to play with McDavid and Drai, I'm guessing he won't put up nearly as many points as he's done the last 2 years. He probably could've cashed in and got a 3x3 deal this year, and now he might be worth less next season...

Couldn't agree more and couldn't have said it better. I had him on several of my AGM teams for $2.5 to $3M and can think of at least one (Anaheim) that really should have pursued him. Good luck, Patrick!!

Great signing for the Blues.

I really do not understand why a player like Maroon would go with a 1 year deal anywhere. And for $1.75M. Maybe real GM's and hockey guys didn't see him as a player worth much but I think a lot of people expected him to get 3 years for at least 2.5M if not more. I had him at 3 x 3.25. He's a player coming off back to back career years of 40+ points and a really good playoff showing in 2017. He also proved it wasn't McDavid carrying him by having 13 point in 17 games with the Devils.

For a player who hasn't earned much throughout his career, this is a head scratcher.

Well he also played with Hischier and Hall partly in New Jersey plus got a third of those points on the PP. But he'll be used as a big body grinder and net front presence for the Blues. I wasnt a can of signing him for tbe longest time , but sadly I think tbe Blues nees him

Fantastic signing by Armstrong. And as an Oilers fan, glad Maroon gets to be home to see his son more often. Good player, great character.

He took the pay cut so he could play in the city where his son lives. You can tell how hard its been for Maroon to be so far away from him. But still, he no doubt could have got more money and more term

St. Louis is really loading up. The rest of the Central better watch out. There’s a clear gap between the Blues, Jets, Preds and the rest

That's a steal. But I'm sure that anyone here who has a son or a daughter will understand and agree with Maroon's decision. Good for Blues.

The hometown kid returns for an incredible price. Strengthens the second line and power play. Great signing by Armstrong. Let's go Blues!
