Trade w/ WPG or CGY

Created by: LetsTalkNHL
Team: 2018-19 Pittsburgh Penguins

Description
Previously posted a trade w/ MIN, but the more I think about it, the less sense it makes. That team needs cap space so the deal would not benefit them.
Let me know if either of these deals make sense? Which is better?

*If the Penguins make that WPG trade, I can see them signing a goalie as backup or third string. If Mason is still available and willing to sign for very cheap, I would take it.

Trades
1.
PIT
    Sam Bennett
    One of Jon Gillies/David Rittich

*Calgary only have Smith signed right now, and Jarry could be a good backup choice. The team has been looking for a goalie and Jarry could be that future starter. Hagelin provides solid 3rd line depth.
    CGY
    1. Hagelin, Carl
    Additional Details:
    Tristan Jarry

*The Penguins take on Bennett, who has not been able to fully develop his game in Calgary. He would get a fresh start in Pittsburgh, would not cost too much, and I do not think an extension would be too costly either.
    2.
    PIT
      Mathieu Perreault

*Winnipeg get more cap space for next season, as Hagelin's contract will end. They will need to sign Laine, Wheeler, Connor, Myers and Copp, plus others. Perreault's role with WPG has dropped with the come up of some of these young kids. He will get a chance to earn more playing time in PIT and will play on big role on that LW. As part of the deal, the Jets get a young goalie who can learn from Hellebuyck, who kind of went through something Jarry might be feeling. He would get some well-earned playing time as backup and can develop well. The team also adds a 5th round pick that can become a 4th if Penguins make it passed round 2.
      WPG
      1. 2019 5th round pick (PIT)
      Additional Details:
      Carl Hagelin
      Tristan Jarry

*The Penguins bring in a guy who is signed for 3 seasons to a reasonable cap hit. I think a french connection between Perreault and Brassard would form throughout the year. He is an upgrade at LW that maybe would not cost too much, if the Jets feel like Jarry is a worth-while addition.

This would be a terrific move for the Jets! Definitely like the trade, helps them currently and helps their cap situation

I like the trade with Calgary much more. Winnipeg doesn't need to take on a young backup goalie who could potentially be a starter in the league. They would want a proven veteran who can play 15 games while Hellebuyvk gets his rest going into the prime of his career

The Calgary move is much better. The Pens acquire a young forward who will still be an RFA after next season. Flames get hagelin who will be a ufa next season when they need cap space to resign Tkachuk
