0% chance Wings give up Larkin. And Zetterburg? They're has been talk of him not being able to play this season due to back issues. Regardless, no chance Detroit trades their Captain and future Captain. Hard Pass

these trades are both very lopsided. if im the red wings i dont want anything you gave up, they're in the middle of a rebuild why would they want players in their 30s (except krug). and Parayko would get a 1st with added to that trade, but then again the blues want to compete, why give up one of their top defensemen for picks and prospects

I don't think Larkin is really worth it. Overrated player in my opinion. Also is he a center or a wing? I feel like everytime i see him as a pivot he looks like crap.

St. Louis laughs and hangs up the phone. Why would they do that?

STL- is close to some cap Trouble, they have to make a move & Miller is very serviceable and it will allow them to sign Shmazltz and Edmunson. Frederic is good prospect (1st rd pick) and from STL.

Det - Krejci would be their #1 Center. Regardless of what people believe he is still very good. Backes & Zetterberg are a wash when you take into account he doesn't want to be a part of a rebuild and his back is mess. He is also 38 and 41 before his contract is up. I am guessing three years from now, back or no back issues, Backes and him are fairly comparable. Plus Det gets Krug. What if Senyshyn or JFK were added to the deal.

I think Parayko is good, I just don't value him the same way you do, I guess.

Miller is a pretty decent dman and STL will need to do something. If I am rating their D with Dunn and Edmunson, he is the odd man out. They are going to need some $ in next two years.

Regardless of what you think of Larkin, he's untouchable. He the core of this "rebuild" and Detroit has no plans to part with him. Holland has always been extremely loyal to his Vets. No way he would trade Z. Especially as close as Z is to the end of his career. He'll probably play this year and then retire, er fall on to the LTIR for his ailing back for the rest of his contract.

It's not what I think of Parayko, it's what virtually everyone thinks of Parayko.

LOL. I am happy for you.
He's not a #1, that is for sure. He is a two or three. I don't think offering a 1st, 2nd and Serviceable Dman is that far off.

STL HAS to do something.

But that isn't what you're offering.

Here is what you're offering.

A former 29th overall pick, that was projected by most to go in the third round. Admittedly, he played pretty well in college. Whatever.
A late 2nd round pick. whatever.
a 30 year old 3rd pairing d man that's topped out at 16 points in his NHL career. Oh and you only have his rights for two years.

for a 6'5" monster d man that logs minutes, always puts up over 30 points, hits, skates, and is basically everything everyone wants in an NHL d man, who's 25 and has a cheap contract for four more seasons.

Good god, the blues might never answer the phone for sweeney again if he offers that.

Maybe the blues have to do something, but trading one of their top three assets for a pile of nothing? probably not the best idea.

Was Frederic Drafted in the first round? Whatever?!?
Is he still only 20 years old?!? whatever!
Did he not put up 8pts - 5 goals - in 13 games in AHL when college season ended? Whatever?!?
Did he not have a VERY good showing at the WJC U20's? - 2nd on team in goals. Whatever?!?
Did you not say earlier this week that you wouldn't give up on him

Also the thing about stats, it's you can check them
Yes, he is tall, but he doesn't really hit. He has average 100 hits over each of his 1st three seasons. Last year his high with 120
Miller had 168 hits in 68 games and almost 66% more hits over the three years.
Blocks are slightly in Parayko's favor, but not per game. Parayko has averaged about 15 games more per season.
Not saying Miller is better, or even in the same conversation, but don't make stuff up.

try watching hockey.

Parayko is an absolute monster. every team wants him. you don't get that kind of player for 3 trivial assets.

Fair offer for Parayko would be Debrusk, 1st rounder, Lauzon.

Ok - According to you. Lol "Try watching hockey"

Sorry you overvalue Dmen who are tall.

Yes, he's good. I never said he wasn't. You like to ignore facts though.

Hits are a stat that they count. He had 120 hits last year. Miller had 165 in 14 less games.

Yes, I know +/- can be misleading, but STL had a + goal differential, particularly on bad teams, but he was the worst STL Dmen in that stat too. Despite all his points he ended - 7
Miller was a +16

hits is the worst stat in hockey. it's sporadically charted. What's a hit? It's different for every score keeper. You're right. I ignore the hit stat, because it's stupid.

AH, I see. But you watch every STL game. got it.

The thing is, it is a stat though... I mean I am sure that the STL score keeper and others around the league conspired to give all of Parayko hits to Jaskin & Bortuzzo. Also Pretty sure there is NO WAY Orpik and Wilson led the Caps in hits. Backstrom all the way!

if you think hits are accurately tracked, that's fine. it's pretty obvious that they aren't, and that parayko is a physical player.

there is no stat capable of evaluating NHL defensemen.

But sure, dream of sweeney offloading three nothings for a star defensemen. I hope it happens.

Maybe ship Acciari for Crosby while we're being sarcastic about stuff. well done.

Want to point out you said a 1st and debrusk is too much for karlsson, but you need to add Lauzon to get Parayko.
C'mon man.
The only only one capable of evaluating nhl dmen is you, I get it. Karlsson has two norris trophies and finished 2nd twice, but you know better.

Karlsson is a pending UFA. Parayko has 4 years left on a cheap deal. There is no way to compare the value of those two players. Why would you try?

and if i were boston i'm not sure i make that deal...its just a fair offer is all.

Keep trying bud, you just like to oppose everything. It's pretty clear that any deal that would involve Karlsson would be contingent on a re-signing right around what Doughty got. Whatever team he gets traded to will re-sign him (unless this drags out until deadline, then he might be rental).

According to you. There is no way to evaluate Dmen & there is no way to evaluate deals for players you aren't at the exact same point in their career. It's a amazing anyone is ever traded.

Your contrarianism shtick is old. We know, you one star everything.

There is a way to evaluate d men. It's very simple. You watch them.

side note: why would you sign Larkin to a four year deal taking him to unrestricted free agency in the shortest possible time. 3 years? he's up for an RFA deal. 5+ years? you're buying out UFA years and get him for term. Seems like 4 years is the least desirable contract length from the teams standpoint.

Honestly, how many games have you watched Parayko play? Are you actively seeking out STL games? I love me some bubble playoff hockey teams! I would be very hard pressed to think you catch more than 10 STL games a year, and that's being generous.

First 30 games of the season they were a wagon. They couldn't lose and they won every home game by like 6 goals. I bet my dick off so ya, I was talking the blues -1.5 everytime they were at home and laughing all the way to the bookie.

It all makes so much sense now. Whilst on your king Missile mission, how many games did you actually watch of the STL Blues?
