Back up goalie, third line center and a third round pick isn’t enough to get Pacioretty. Honestly thought Florida was a good trade partner for him to start but with Hoffman now their need is less for him, plus I think they can wait and have a chance to land him in free agency instead of giving up assets.

Bad trade from MTL prospective...but seriously do you think any team is going to pay Patches value? he is a UFA after this year and MTL doesnt want him. all 30 other NHL Gms have all the leverage because at the end of the day MTL either gets what they can for him or they lose him for nothing. it sucks for sure but thats the reality

You do realize that when a team is trying to trade a player and says they won't resign him that the other 30 teams will under cut the value of that player, you do realize that right. Please tell me that you understand that the Habs screwed themselves by the way they've handled things just like the development of Chucky at Center! I'm hoping they get something instead of pulling a Tavares and getting nothing but IMO it won't be much! Change the 2020 to a 1st but I don't think Florida would do that and the Subbanator7667 make s a good point.
