Leafs say no, but the trade makes little sense for both sides. Tampa should be looking for ELC players in return for Drouin. They'll need the space next season with all the Free agents they have to sign

They'll get that space when Ben Bishop is let go in favor of Andrei Vasilevsky and Boyle is let go in favor of Adam Erne. Adding about $3.25 mil in cap space to acquire a star winger in van Riemsdyk will not hurt their chances of re-signing Johnson, Palat, Hedman, etc.
