Karlsson isn't going to agree to go to a team that is so far behind in their rebuild and has been a completed disaster. He wants to go to a contender.

True but does he put the Isles on his 10 team no trade list?

W/ Karlsson and Anderson, the Isles become automatic contender.

The Islanders are a dumpster fire - its worse than Toronto was under JFJ. It doesn't take a mind reader to see that a player like Karlsson doesn't want to go to a disaster similar to the Sens he is already on. He wants a serious option like Tampa or Dallas.

The Islanders are quite the opposite of a dumpster fire. Sure, they lost their star, but they have a Cup-winning coach, a Hall of Fame GM, stable ownership for the first time in literally forever, and an arena on the way. You can absolutely make the argument they're not a very good hockey team, but they are about as far from a dumpster fire as an organization can get.

Lou's roster decision on who to add to a team are 18th century anachronisms. He doesn't fit the new NHL. Toronto was still a terrible place team and no good veteran in their right mind wanted to go there year 1 of Lou and Babcock. The kids had to get to the dance on their own before respected veterans wanted to come there. Toronto was an absolute tire fire and it took 3 years to gain respect. If everything is as stable as you make it to be Islanders are 1-3 years from landing big time free agents

the players that were added to the roster were not to make the team better, but to "change the culture." Adding veterans can only help, because the Islanders are notorious for becoming complacent during games and throughout a few stretches over the course of the season. Not to mention this is not a big free agency type team. The Isles have always had money to spend in free agency, but have opted not to. They signed Ladd because they felt like they needed to, not because they absolutely had to. And again, the Islanders are far from a tire fire. They have already put JT behind them and are moving forward, at least per beat writers. They're excited to play - I feel like members of an actual tire fire, like Ottawa for example, are not excited.
