I don't think Simmons and JVR are fast enough to play with Karlsson, I would much rather see him play on the top line.

You gave Karlsson too much he may will probably not score 40+ goals again. And you traded too much for him.

Obviously there's a lot of lineup flexibility to try a lot of line combinations. I contemplated Karlsson with Lindblom and Konecny on his wings.

It's an offer sheet. It would take a lot to make Vegas not match. (I still think they would). As for the trade that's the required compensation. https://www.capfriendly.com/offer-sheet-calculator

you cant offersheet him anymore, he selected the arbitration route

"How can you avoid an offer sheet?
Easiest way is to sign your RFAs before they can start talking to other teams.

Players that have elected to go to salary arbitration cannot be given an offer sheet, though there are a few days to get one if they wait to the deadline to file.

A player being taken to arbitration by a team has limited opportunity to sign an offer sheet - it has to be done before 5pm (New York time) on July 5th."

Thanks. I'm aware of the arbitration rules but wasn't clear on who actually filed.

Good thing he did. It saves us from ourselves.

I think thats a good idea, if Karlsson is going to repeat what he did last year, he'll need speed on the wings.

Wouldn't this be cap disastrous for the Flyers (even if Karlson could be offer sheeted.) Gotta pay for PB out of next years cap, Provonov should expect a big raise. One year shouldn't get such a 11m salary anyway.

$11 million!?!?!?!? Sure he is young and had an amazing season (like most of Vegas), but did he over perform in a storybook season of misfits or did he just get that much better? There is no way I would take that bet for that much money for 7 years while giving up 4 1st round picks.

They'd be fine. There's enough players coming off the cap after this coming season. It really just confirms Simmonds is not returning if they make a signing like this.

In no way should any team give William Karlsson 11 million a year.
