Damn that doesn't seem like an good deal for Bob at all. Better off retaining salary and getting max value back. All your getting otherwise is a bottom pairing dman, a old starting goalie and a good but not great prospect. Got to think a team like NYI or would love to have Bob and have the assets to trade for him too.

One year of Panarin for Huberdeau? Pass.

Long term Panarin at the price of Huberdeau and a pick likely in the teens? Not quite so bad, but still a pretty steep price. Huberdeau is a very solid player. Wouldn't be wanting to give him up when bringing in Panarin. I'd start with Bjugstad, maybe Owen Tippett as well.

Florida wouldn't trade Huberdeau straight across for Panarin let alone give up a 1st as well.

5.9m x 5yr is far too valuable now

I think Stone is better than what he showed last year. Smith is just enough insurance to ease Korpisalo into a starting role. Dube is a solid center prospect. The Jackets not only will gain a bit of cap space going into next season but there also is no stipulation to Bob signing back either.

Hey if your happy with that return, by all means. I just think simply retaining on BOB and trading him will get you a better return than your showing.
