LET'S TRY SOMETHING! WHAT WOULD IT TAKE FOR OILERS TO TRADE AWAY C.McDAVID??

Description
Ok so i know it won't happen anytime soon, but let's have fun and speculate to what everyone think it should take to make EDM part ways with McDavid RIGHT NOW (not in 6-7 years).

I'm going to propose 3 scenarios, so you'll see 2 McDavid being created just in the purpose of those scenarios. Don't mention to me that there's too many players on my roster or that I'm above salary cap (it's not the purpose of this thread). Also, feel free to insult me and ridicule me on the scenarios, since that's basically what everyone is doing in here..OR just write what you think the deal should include and let's amicably debate for fun! ?

the next 5 years of first round picks, next 5 years of second round picks, next 5 years of 3rd round picks, that teams top 3 prospects, a couple decent roster players....plus taking lucic's full salary

Hahahaha yeah Lucic's a MUST!

These trades each make the Oilers better right away, overally, but they make them harder to sell off the ice for as long as McDavid leads the league in scoring. Revenue is more important than wins, especially for small and medium market teams, so I don't think these get it done.

Obviously there's a tipping point for any player, but to trade a first overall pick who's led the league in scoring twice as a 20 and 21 year old you'd have to start with a first overall pick and then build from there. Buffalo isn't making the deal, but could, with a package like one of the above. Bad idea for them. Colorado, with Ottawa's potential first overall, Grubauer, Zadorov, Barrie, and Rantanen could possibly put together a winwin offer.

every playoff team that has the cap room, if they don't they would have to either trade away some guys to other teams first or send some nhl guys back Edmonton that total enough salary to take on 18million(lucic plus mcdavids salary) against the cap for quite a few years.

Yeah. I think they'll find a way.

Edit: for instance, Caps throw in Bowey, since they only have two prospects that would move the needle (Johansen and Samsonov), along with their five years of top three picks, then they trade Ovechkin elsewhere, to get back two late firsts and one top prospect, and trade Backstrom elsewhere for two more firsts. They end up with a top line of Vrana, McDavid, Oshie, and a second line or Burakovsky, Kunznetsov, and WIlson. Lucic is on the third with Eller and Connolly, who set him up for a few more goals than he's been getting lately. Fourth is still an open audition apart from DSP. Their defense is completely unchanged, but maybe they sign Jerabek or Emelin for depth. Their power play is worse, without Backstrom or Ovechkin, but they move Oshie to the point, add Wilson in front of the net, put McDavid on the half boards, and they do okay.

Never happen, because the Oilers aren't trading McDavid for ten years or more, but if they wanted to, the Caps, or pretty much any other team, accept(s). Caps more than others because they remember losing Scott Stevens for five late first round picks and not really ending up with much to show for it all. It is my humble opinion that a 21 year old Conor McDavid is worth more than twice as much as a 30 year old Scott Stevens was. Easy yes. No hesitation.
