I like Vesalainen, but I think the 3rd would have to be on the other side of the ledger.

What I don't like, is the idea of the Rangers moving either of their top 2 centers until the kids have proven they are ready for that role. If it did happen, Spooner or Names would have to move to the 2C. I think Chytil translates more to a scoring winger and gets to taste some success without the pressure of playing the 2C. Andersson has the two way game to be the 3C getting protected minutes. Just my opinion.

Yeah I see what you mean, but if Chytil proves himself worthy of the 2C role then I think this would work. Also, Veslainen and Stanley are both great prospects so I figured that we’d have to give them something more but I don’t know

the whole point of rebuilding is to give young players opportunities to play a big role. Not decide chytil cant be a center after like 9 games. trading hayes and letting chytil and andersson center lines 2 and 3 is what they need to do

Who decided after 9 games??

Sorry, but have to disagree with you on this. The young players will have plenty of playing time to go around, I didn't say relegate him to the 4th line...so your point about rebuilding is kinda off. If you pay attention around the league year to year...time and time again you see perennial rebuilding teams overplay/use their kids in situations where they get exposed early and it stunts their growth (RNH comes to mind). You can easily get Chytil time at C without moving Hayes. Ideally, once he's proven his ability to play C (and 2C at that!), you can then move Hayes rather easily for a healthy return, where is the harm in that? It's silly to rush them along, to what end? The rebuild isn't going to take a year, so relax and get comfy!

It's nice to think your kids are going to step in and immediately start swimming like fish, but this kid is 18 years old! Even Austin Matthews, Connor McDavid, Jack Eichel etc etc had the benefit of being sheltered in their first seasons before taking on bigger roles/minutes, and Connor McDavid Chytil is certainly not!! If you think playing him at 2C immediately is a good idea...hey your entitled to your opinion..but that doesn't make it a good one! lol

I think both options make sense. It all depends on what Gorton thinks Chytil can fonand how much pressure he wants to put on him. I personally say that we should trade Hayes so that he can get the 2C role without making Hayes disgruntled. But that’s also because I think Chytil is ready for it

OK, I would love if this were true but where are you getting the idea that Chytil is ready for the 2C? In his limited time last year, he wasn't asked to play C at all, and was largely invisible for many shifts. This is fine, because again the kid is 18! But you think that's enough proof to let him play 2C this year, and with no Hayes on the roster in case things go bad? You'd be killing this kid, or asking Spooner/Names to take on the 2C. In either case, it just doesn't make sens to do this when you have a built in set of training wheels in Hayes. Give Chytil spot time at C, if he shows promise and the ability to match up against the rest of the league's 2C's...you move Hayes at the deadline for a nice haul. Simple and seamless!

Andersson is the more 2 way ready player, I'd rather let him take on the 3C role in sheltered minutes with Spooner/Names ready to take over if things don't go well. Chytil is a much bigger scoring threat with the better offensive upside. Let this kid get a little freedom to play with the leash off and gain some confidence.

Yeah you’re right 100% but you never know. Chytil played spectacular in the AHL and had some good looks during his time in the NHL so with some more hard work he very well could handle the 2C role. But we definitely wouldn’t force him into it

I am definitely high on him also. We all thought a ton of Buch, and I think Chytil looks even better!
