Description
Would love to see Brouwer traded, and don't really care where Lazar goes.
Give Bennett a chance with truly skilled gritty players in Neal and Tkachuk, tough line to play against for sure, have to give one more chance to see if he can be who we thought he would.
Backs and Frolik good defensive minded mentors for Janks and see Czarnik moving up through the year with his scoring touch to replace Frolik.
- Can't figure out the defence with Kulak on waivers other than the top two pairing, could see trading Stone with Andersson just around the corning, will have to wait and see at training camp. Doubt we see Valimaki and Andersson up right away but boy they looked good in last year of juniors and the last rookie camp. I still see Treiliving putting together a trade or two to stock a couple more picks to make up for last year. Maybe Buffalo with their 3 first rounders?
Buddy can more than make up for the lack of size on the 4th but really like Mangiapane and Foo last year. Just gets too small with Czarnik and Johnny to have Mangiapane too I think, but lots of speed and skill there.

I don’t see Bennett getting a Top 9 C role when CGY has Backlund, Ryan, and Lindholm winning draws well above 50%.

I’d love to be wrong — it requires Bennett coming to camp a different player than last year with something to prove. I would be keen to see Bennett / Jankowski / Neal as a 3rd line though. That could be a pretty sneaky depth scoring combo.

Gaudreau / Monahan / Lindholm
Tkachuk / Backlund / Frolik
Bennett / Jankowski / Neal
——— / Ryan / Czarnik

That’s what I’d like to see. And even then I think that’s under-utilizing both Czarnik and Ryan.

CGY is very deep up front this year. Will be fun to see in action.

Agreed, dunno if Bennett gets that quality of line mates, especially at center

If Bennett does get the shot there, its make or break for him. There would be no excuse to at least not progress under that circumstance.

Agree all around, it would be a very very short leash of course, but even a few games just to see, what a gritty line with punch and scoring. Bad first dozen games and Bennet is on the 4th line and gone next year. I like the idea of Neal with Janks and Benny but I like Neal better then Frolik ( Oh know breaking up the 3M line! lol) You are correct Vanderm, it will be very interesting with this depth to see what they do. I too see Czarnik and Ryan with higher potential then the 4th, however its finally nice to see the possibility of 4 truly capable lines. Can't wait to see how it all pans out. Cheers.

just don't call it a 4th line lol

1st 2nd and two 3rds, every team that has won the cup I the last 10 years could claim this about their team. our bottom six all have potential so all six guys will likely play very similar minutes

Peters likes to juggle lines so this will probably happen sooner or later. Will be up to Bennett to make it count. I still think he has more in the tank.
