No from MTL, WPG, and COL. Other trades are reasonable.

Trouba is worth as much or more than Stone. Wingers aren't hard to find and the Jets have a couple that are better than Stone currently and a couple that may be better eventually. Laine and Wheeler are both better than Stone.

After looking at the Jets wing situation I’d have to agree they’d have really no need to add Stone. Although I think you are undervaluing him as a player. He is a Selke type winger that has led the league in takeaways for 3 seasons before last year (only played in 58 games) and has 3 seasons in the top 15 in takeaways since 2007. Only 1 other player can say they have done that and that’s Pavel Datsyuk. Also I would personally take Stone over Wheeler mainly because he’s younger and I think on a team as stacked as the Jets he could put up roughly the same amount of points while also being a top 5-10 2-way forward in the league. Laine is a gem tho

How many wingers have won the selke in the past 10 years? There is no such thing as a Selke winger, because wingers only look after one side of the ice while centres control 80% of the ice.

That’s why I’m saying you are undervaluing him. He’s a winger that is good enough to be in the conversation for the selke which is dominated by Centers. When he’s on the ice he’s creating turnovers in all areas of the ice.

My point is, no winger is ever in the conversation. Only sens fans are mentioning him in the Selke conversation. There are 31 centres at least who are ahead of him in the Selke race.

Wrong. 2016-17 stone finished 6th in Selke voting. Look it up
Even this past year that he was hurt for part of the season he finished 22nd in voting

Still doesn't make him worth 8 million. Under 7 for him is a good deal, over 7 is pushing it and if he wants 8, move him immediately.

Can agree with that. Signing him to 7-7.5m would probably be acceptable. Don’t think he’ll sign at least long term for anything under 7

Here is the thing about wingers. Almost zero of them can dominate on their own, they almost always need a centre to get them the puck. Kane and Ovie are exceptions, I don't see Stone being even close to those guys levels. If the Sens are staring down a rebuild I feel there is a good chance Duchene wants out, he was miserable in the Avs rebuild year and wanted out, why would he want to go down the same and likely much longer path with Ottawa? If he leaves, then Stone is faced with having to be the guy and I don't see him being successful without support.

So basically, Stone isn't getting signed until, Karlsson is either resigned or traded and after Duchene decides whether or not he wants to stay through a rebuild. If both Karlsson and Duchene leave, then Stone will be faced with playing with very little support and then a 7-8 million dollar deal will look really bad because he'll be scoring at a 60-70 point pace at best.
