I get the urge for a centre, but 14 mill? This would be MBs mark on his tombstone.

Subban Trade, Galchenyuk trade, Drouin trade, Kotkaniemi Draft, Shaw Trade, All those 4th liner Trades.

Not saying these are bad trades. I actually like some of them. But he's been criticized immensely by the fan base and has has been under constant scrutiny. Not by you once tho? lol

It's the only way they can get someone to play for the team. Literally throw bags of money at them.

I will say this as a die hard Habs fan. I have been upset by some of his moves but not to the point of calling for his head for 1 particular move (every team has been upset by moves their team has made). Subban deal for example pissed me off, but I saw the logic there at the time. Said at the time this is deal is fine for the next years and then its brutal (turns out it was only 1 year you could argue was a toss). I don't want to get into details of every move but one other thing, I applauded the Kotkaniemi draft pick. Been criticized for the last 6 years for not getting a centre (and he's tried). In a league where if you're not winning (ie to sign a JT) then you have to draft the C. So when no team was dying to move up, what else is he to do? Pass on him, take another winger and then a couple years down the road watch as the guy you passed up turns into a #1C you've been craving (not saying he will 100% but its the current outlook).

But no, never once called for his tombstone markings in the past.

Good.

And yeah, I liked that draft pick by the Habs as well. It's hard to go against Central scouting, TSN insiders, etc. etc. who've been feeding the media information that would lead everyone to believe that Zadina was the clear Number 3. Kotkaniemi has been improving all year (which is amazing development wise) and has much higher seeling than most players at the draft.

The whole “we can pay more!” scheme didn’t work with Tavares, and it ain’t gonna work with Seguin.

Sharks would rather keep the pick. Their D is fine.
