to answer your question....no. long term I think it's a real bad deal for the raptors. they built up a relationship with DeRorzan, who forgo being UFA to stay in with raptors. now when the raptors tried to persuade other players to become join the family of raptors, players won't believe what raptor management says. that's OK if you want to like most other teams, but going to even tougher to persuade player to play in Canada now

Wow you think the salary cap is going to to increase by 6.5 million next season? Hahaha good one.
Those contracts are undervalued and the trades are just delusional.

I don't think anything....I'm just taking Gary Bettmans word at face value....he said the cap was going to rise by 6.5 million next season in an interview this summer.

BTW....the cap would have risen by 7 million this year.....but Bettman chose to allocate 2.5 million towards reducing salary escrow.....which Bettman confirmed they WON'T be doing next year....because escrow is now at an all time low (and it's like you don't understand that adding new [high revenue] team will increase league revenue?).

Who do I trust more: Gary Bettman....or Goldendelicious?

As far as the trades go....Pesce is the only roster addition....and the guys I traded (or their returns) could get multiple Pesce's.....regardless of whether you or I value them.

Anyways....thank God there's 5 million in cap space to cover all my delusional contracts.....we might just have to pay Matthews 15 million.....right big guy?

Long story short.....the team put forward......will stand even if your criticism is correct......BOOM.

But there’s not $5M in cap space cuz you made up a fake injury for Marleau and put him on LTIR ?

Nahhhhh guy there IS $5 million in cap space.....I replaced him with Skinner....a younger but very comparable player at the moment.

If you prefer....imagine Marleau was in Skinners place.....and then assume well have an extra $6,000,000 in cap space the following summer (when Marleau expires).

    DO YOU APPROVE ? cool

Nahhh guy you still have Marleau on the roster. He doesn’t get LTIRd. So you either have no cap space or no Skinner. You don’t just get put out guys on LITIR just cuz you don’t want the player the leafs paid to much and gave a NMC to.

Nahhh guy I said replace Skinner with Marleau....which means Skinner is off the team.

Lol reading comprehension skill? It clearly shows Skinner playing 1st line LW and Marleau being placed on LTIR resulting full cap relief of 6.25M. You should try it. I mean it’s pretty simple stuff here. You can’t just replace a guy who has a NMC just cuz you feel like it. Boy.

This is the quote that started all the controversy.....

"If you prefer....imagine Marleau was in Skinners place"

I believe that's pretty self explanatory (pretend I didn't put Marleau on LTIR and pretend I didn't sign Skinner to replace him).

It keeps the team at almost the exact same cap hit as above (250k more to be exact - but there's cleary 5 million available - so it's a non-issue).

If you are still having trouble understanding .... please ask any questions you'd like and I'll be more than happy to explain further ma boi.

There’s no “controversy”. It’s clear as day. You made a bunch of nhl 18 trades and put a guy that’s not hurt on LTIR. Dumb.
