How are you acquiring Trouba? If it's an offer sheet I'd think Winnipeg would match and if they didn't you would need to give them compensation. (Also, an offer sheet cannot be longer then 7 years.) If it's not an offer sheet you need to trade for his rights first.

Nylander would not get 5.. ever.. and getting Trouba is just with one option.. trading for his rights because he is RFA!

I don't know why folks are so stuck on Nyander getting al long term deal. He just might take a shorter bridge....like Trouba, in order to get closer to being a UFA. Trouba has set himself to be a UFA, why folks think he is miraculously going to sign a long term deal now, just sorta belies the facts.

Everyone is so negative. I love this, wave the magic wand and poof...we have Trouba! Why would you want to give anything up for him?

You can understand the confusion because well with that contract the compensation would be about the same (next 2 1st round picks, 2nd and 3rd) also didn't realize the picks were 2 and 3 drafts from now.

Yes he can though its extremely unlikely that happens unless Winnipeg is very very unhappy with the arb outcome

Or just a terrible trade... why does Winnipeg give up one of their best dmen for picks when they are also going for it. Have fun being cap crunched for the next decade and not winning anything for another 70 years.

    I'll break this down.
    1. Winnipeg basically has to trade Trouba now. If you had a clue you would know this. He signed a 1 year deal and is one year from UFA and they will lose him for nothing. He clearly wants out of there. He will be traded this year.
    2. Toronto has absolutely ZERO cap crunch problem. If you actually spent 5 minutes and looked at any potential roster you would know this, but again I assume you have no clue.
    3. That Vegas place seems to know a thing or two about betting and they have Toronto as high favorites to win a cup. While that is no guarantee, I am happy to see you disagree because if you continue to be wrong about exactly 100% of what you have said on this website, they may have a shot at it.
Also for someone being a Ranger fan I am guessing, you sure should not be chirping anyone. Your team is in for a good 3-4 years of hot garbage.
    Goodbye son
