Might be more like second rounders - but if retaining half then possible to get the first rounder - it will be most likely one of the last pick in the draft so not as valuable.

Not sure why people suddenly think contenders are going to hang on to their 1st rounders. WPG, VGK and NSH all gave up far more for their rentals going into a much stronger draft.

Massive overpayment by Tampa Bay. Wouldn't want to give up their top prospect in Foote and a first for a rental winger. Also don't think Winnipeg would trade a first for a guy who wouldn't crack their top 6.
