Too much, CBJ would not be interested in taking the services of Broewer.

That's why I did too much. Brouwer was needed for salary cap reasons so I over extended.

Andersson and Valimaki are interchangable. Columbus may value a center more over a gritty winger in Tkachuk. Fair point though

Wow, not sure if too much or too little - so you might be dead on. I pull the trigger if I am the blue jackets

I think it would be too much but Brouwer lowers it to even imo. Thanks

Panarin doesn't want to play in Canada, According to his agent he wants a major US city.

I think it's dead even. Columbus may not want Brouwer but the value would be in Columbus' favor by far in Brouwer wasn't there to weigh it down fairly. Good job. Panarin vs McDavid haha

Definitely. I doubt he would want to play in Calgary but I figured it would be cool to try with Calgary. Maybe if they offered him way more money who knows. Thanks

The player is really forcing Kekalainen's hand on this one. Tavares broke the ice for elite players to basically leverage the final year of their deals (prior to UFA) as full on NMC's when they don't like the direction of their current team. They can threaten to not re-sign, which forces their GM to move them for some value; they can threaten to not extend with a team their GM wants to trade them to (effectively killing the deal -- Pacioretty couldn't come to terms with LA, for example); or they can say "I'm going UFA no matter what", which again prevents their trade from happening because other teams won't offer much, if anything, for that kind of uncertainty.

I think people will be surprised what kind of value CLB ends up getting (surprised at how low it is), assuming all the rumors have more weight to them than just negotiating words for Panarin to land an "elite" contract with CLB.

Either way, the upper end of the talent pool is starting to borrow negotiation tactics from the NBA, and it's making for interesting times.

CGY wouldn't do the deal you mentioned above. Tkachuk is untouchable.
