Pacioretty would actually be a good rental if the price was right.

Throwing all the depth into the Karlsson trade is a bit of a hail Mary. He only scored 10 more points than Gardiner and Jake plays better defensively so the gain there may be a lot less than you think.

Leafs don't need Patches at LW. And certainly the Leafs are trading their best prospect for a one year rental in Patches.
