  1. Trouba, Jacob
Additional Details:
Extension in place (6.5x7)
WPG
  1. Pionk, Neal
  2. Zuccarello, Mats
  3. 2020 2nd round pick (NYR)
Additional Details:
This trade would give Winnipeg more forward depth and allow them to trade Perreault to relieve cap space. Also upgrade on Perreault and pending UFA which allows them to see if they are able to sign him or not.. There would be 2020 2nd rounder involved with condition if Zuccarello re-signs, the pick would not go to WPG, if he does not, Jets receive that pick. Pionk is the second piece in there, he is great but he is just one dimensional and Trouba is also very good defensively. Trouba is all around top pairing defender and once he stabilizes his position as one of the top tier defenders in the league.

I would love for this to happen and I think it’s a fair deal but I’d replace Pionk with someone else. Lindgren, Day, and DeAngelo would all be okay to trade. One thing though, I think Winnipeg will keep Trouba for this season at least till the deadline so they can see if he’s someone they should trade and give a big contract to during the offseason.

Sammy, another fetched "sign and trade". Under the CBA teams can't even discuss contracts till January 2019. If I were the Jets, I would try to package another unnecessary cap hit like Perrault in a Trouba package, when a trade happens....maybe next summer.

I didnt knew that about contract discussions, thanks for new information. And if I was WPG I would not try to add Perreault to that deal since it would lower what they would receive back. I would trade Perreault to Montreal for a 2nd and something with low cap hit.

I posted a very similar offer, with Names in the deal instead of Zucc. Names is younger, costs less and is under control for longer, and he also has the ability to play C (the Jets lost Stastny). Any variation of Zucc, Names, Spooner, Pionk, DeAngelo with a 2-3rd rd pick (Winnipeg's pleasure) would sit fine with me.

It's kind of becoming more and more clear that Trouba doesn't have interest in resigning with the Jets long term. I almost feel like he asked for 7m knowing the Jets wouldn't agree to that amount. The Jets are legitimate contenders, so I don't see them moving him at the deadline. However, he is very likely to go at the draft or during the off season, especially if he has a big year and warrants a big money contract. It also seems more and more likely that he wants to control his own destiny, so he's likely going to have some sway over the deal by dictating what team he is willing to be traded to (to in turn sign a long term deal).

While the Rangers have a lot of D prospects, only Pionk, DeAngelo and Lundkvist are RH. Trouba is much closer to a sure thing, and projects higher than these guys. He would be the perfect partner for Skjei, the Rangers would be wise to keep a very close eye on this!
