Nylander has shown zero signs of any of that. Trouba has demanded trades, asked for way too much money and has done this publicly. Nylander has been quiet and when he has said anything, he's said how much he loves the team and the city.

Oh, I do think Nylander loves it here. But he has lived throughout North America and Europe in his young life, moving again won't be an issue. And certainly agree Nylander has been a good team mate and publicly very clean. I'm just saying he I think he wants to explore his options as player sooner (four years) than later. Certainly the best thing for Nylander (or any player) is too play well at all times cause it increases your value and options. LoganOllivier as a Leafs fan, I would like to see Nylander signed long term, I just don't think it's happening with his next contract.

Bridge deals are dead. Or where dead but since Kucherov signed his 9.5 million dollar deal, (Which if it were in Ontario, would have been over 10.5) a lot of people are saying Nylander should get a Kucherov bridge for 2 years. That is a mistake in my opinion because it will just result in a higher term for the same player in 2 years. Get the long term deal now. Dubas will make it happen because he understands its easier to plan if you have your main offensive players wrapped up for the next 7 years. (7 because of Tavares)

Again, you're talking about what the team wants. Maybe a player only wants as short term deal, hoping for future riches.

Its a risk for the player as well going short term. What if he gets injured and doesn't perform. From a players stand point getting an 8 year deal provides security, wealth and stability. Its a win win.

I agree with you statement. Hasn't stopped Trouba or probably Kucherov did it from signing a short term. Again that's my opinion of Nylander. He's different than most guys, I just think he isn't signing long term.

I think he would have signed a short term deal already if that was the case. They are working quietly on the finer points of whatever deal he's hoping to get. That tells me the team and player are on the same page.
