O my gosh that's terrible. Orlov is already better than Suter, but he's also younger and on an amazing contract. Suter is older, worse, and on a terrible contract. Then on top of that we should give up a top 6 forward and a 1st?! Craziness.

Bura is not a proven top 6 forward and suter is still way better than orlov

Bura is a top 6 forward and Orlov is much better than Suter. If this was for Suter in his prime, then sure, but Suter will be 34 this season and his contract won't end until he's 40.

The league will only be a few years suter will still be near elite by then, and BURA IS NOT A PROVEN TOP 6 FORWARD, STOP IT

Hard pass for me. Orlov and Burkie have way too much upside to give up on for a past his prime Suter.

Suter isn't even elite now haha

And yeah Bura is top 6: https://public.tableau.com/shared/FS7TNYKGC?:display_count=yes
Issue is he has been hurt so he hasn't put up those numbers but he will this season.

Exactly. Would be a terrible terrible trade for the Caps.

I'd take Orlov over Suter alone, due to upside, age and contract. Plus adding in Burky and picks make's it a pretty bad trade. Also, how do the Caps get Ferland from CAR for nothing..??

Here in Capsland if you every play on the top 2 lines you are top-6. It doesn't matter if it is because of injuries to better players, or in the Caps case, a relative lack of actual top-6 quality wingers (ie; there are only two top-6 quality wingers in DC). Someone has to fill in those last two "top-6" slots so they are technically "top-6" wingers. nevermind that on a team with good winger depth they would be 3rd line, if not even 4th.

It's also a fanbase that a Cap losses an edge without being touched and the fans start chanting "ref you suck" because a penalty wasn't called. We are moving our seats this year so hopefully there will be less puds around us. My luck it will be worse...
