Is this in order?

If so, Holtby and Andersen are too low. And Price is too high.

People s*** on him because of one bad season out of the last 5...so typical! Here's my list of the 15 best goalie RIGHT NOW (not "each at their peak") :

1 B.Holtby
2 S.Bobrovsky
3 C.Price
4 J.Quick
5 M-A.Fleury
6 P.Rinne
7 T.Rask
8 C.Hellebuyck
9 F.Andersen
10 D.Dubnyk
11 M.Jones
12 A.Vasilevsky
13 H.Lundqvist
14 M.Murray
15 J.Gibson/C.Talbot (tie)

Not sure what Pekka Rinne has done to be even in the top-10.

Let's examine some empirical evidence over the past three years. This is where Pekka Rinne ranks in the following categories (all 5v5, minimum TOI = 2000) :

SV% : 12th (92.9)
xSV% : 5th (92.88)
HDSV% : 51st (77.24)
GSAA : 32nd (0.53)

All figures based out of 60 eligible goaltenders.

Now let's look at the past five years (5v5, minimum TOI = 5000)

SV% : 11th (92.83)
xSV% : 2nd (93.05)
HDSV% : 47th (76.39)
GSAA : 37th (-13.42)

All these figures are based out of 49 eligible goaltenders.

Simply because beat writers think that a player should get an award, doesn't provide any empirical evidence that said player is "good". It's subjective review of that goaltender. Meanwhile, my argument is based on statistical evidence to support my case.

last year he was 7th in save% ; 5th in GAA; 1st in GSAA; 1st in shutouts

that is not anymore subjective than your opinion. If you want to argue you think last year was a fluke that is one possible argument but to say he wasn't good or worthy of it is dumb.

Neither Roberto Luongo or Mike Smith are top 15 Goaltenders in the league. Not even close both have major health issues.

He was not 1st in GSAA - he was 4th (5v5 numbers). GAA and Shutouts are liking using plus/minus as a skill level indicator for a skater.

I actually never claimed that he should or shouldn't get the award. I claimed that what beat writers think doesn't correlate to how good a player is or isn't.

It would also appear that this list doesn't take into account just last year - otherwise, John Gibson would surely be listed somewhere. The list is objectively inaccurate.

not sure if we're talking about "right now" or "all the current goalies at the peak of their career (or playing at their full potential)"

Right now (using as a basis of this past season + plus playoff performance). I'd say top 5 -> Vasilevski, Bobrovsky, Fleury, Hellebuyck, Rinne

At the peak of their careers (or if they can go back to playing at top of their game). top 5 -> Price, Lundqvist, Quick, Luongo, Rask

I presume that is why Crawford is not on the list. Still don’t know exactly what his issue is. Concussion or vertigo or ?

I thought they said vertigo, But i'm not sure i guess a concussion could cause vertigo in some ways.

Crawford? He was having a Vezina caliber season until he got injured and he was still a top 15 goalie before this year

Is he still recovering from that slapshot he got from Weber a while back or did some thing else happen?

Scary stuff, eh?! To his credit, like a previous poster already stated, Crow was having a Vezina-type start to last season. I think soon before Christmas he got hurt again, then gave up a bunch of goals to the Islanders(?) in his last outing. Even with him, Chicago was not in the playoff race at the time. Hopefully, the guy is properly diagnosed and is given proper advise either way as he contemplates his future.
