Healthy outlook

Created by: awatt
Team: 2018-19 Anaheim Ducks
Initial Creation Date: Jul. 27, 2018
Published: Jul. 27, 2018
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
If everyone is healthy to start the season, this is what the team will look like. Steel and Terry will start the season in the AHL and depending on their play, they could be brought up immediately.

Healthy or not if this team struggles like I think they will. I see RC gone by Christmas and a few players on their way out. Terry and Steel will then get their shot at the end of the season when they are out of the playoff race and play spoiler.

The big question is Kesler, if he isn't healthy then the line up will be completely different.

A very unhealthy team last year managed to rack off another 100+ point season. I see no reason to think that a healthy Ducks club doesn't challenge for the pacific division title.

It depends on the health of Kesler. BM loves to keep his kids down in the AHL for a full season if possible.

If Kesler is out, I fully expect Steel and possibly Terry up with the big club at the start of the season. I'm not sleeping on either one though. Would love to see the young kids up with the club just not on that 4th line.

We will see. If everyone is healthy with the exception of Kesler, I think this team can still be dangerous but they have to play faster and not give up 40 shots a game.

No way Ryan Kelser is in the opening night lineup, With his ailing hip he's probably going to miss at least half of the season. If not more.

There are different rumors out there. Personally, I think he will be out the whole season which opens a spot for a couple of the young guys.

Roy of the top line over kase?id say he’s gonna play 3 or 4 if he comes up for us. We all know RC is picky with who comes up.

If he was to play this year... and that is a HUGE IF, it would be near the end of the season for the playoffs... But I am in the same boat as you, I think he is out this season, (should take it off) and get some of the young kids a shot. To my point about missing a season, why would Murray over pay for Rowney with his limited time in the NHL? Guy was one the top in FO % in the defensive zone last year, (I think 56%+) and 52% for the entire season. Tthat is Keslers role. So that might show Keslers hand there a little.

Kase is a RW and Roy is a LW. Roy also showed how well he can play with Getzlaf as his center in a handful of games last year. Gives Getzy some speed on the wing and a younger player to take under his wing.

Kase would play well with Rico and Rakell. That second line would be fun to watch and could pick up the scoring from the top line.

Agreed! He should take it off and let it all heal. Come back the next season and be good to go.

I did not know that about Rowney but it makes sense to sign him if you know Kesler is going to be out for the major part of the season, if not longer.
