Description
Saw a wild fan make this proposal and wanted to see what it looked like from the Jets perspective. Can't say that I don't like it because I actually do but is the value there? Lets also not forget these two are divisional rivals so a deals even harder to come by between them

Neiderreiter to the jets doesn't make a whole lot of sense assuming you think that Wheels can be resigned in the range of 5.5millx6 to 7.5millx3.

Appleton is the most promising forward in the AHL and the jets best forward prospect hands down.

I also like Brodin but that is one year too many if you project Stanley and Samberg to be ready for third pairing duties in 2 years and Niku to be ready for 2nd pairing duties in 2 years.

I've been pulling for a wild trade since the beginning but at this point the most attractive players on the Wild are Dumba, Coyle, and Staal.

Counter offer if the Wild are truly sold on Trouba and Appleton:
Coyle, Dumba, and a 5th for Trouba, Samberg, and Petan.

Assuming Wild fans follow college hockey, I'm sure there would be some excitement in getting a UMD player back. Petan actually has a better P/per game than Appleton, but Petan just doesn't look like he fits in the plans with Vesa coming into the fold. Trouba is still the most valuable player in this trade, but I think Coyle would round out our 3rd line really well for the next two years, and Dumba is a lot less headache than Trouba.

As a Wild fan, a big, whooping...no thanks! First of all, Trouba plays 65 games a year (look it up). Second, why would any team want a malcontent like him??? Trading Dumba in a deal for Trouba is asinine! Dumba has a brighter future and isn't a pain in the ass.

Solid no on a Trouba for Dumba swap. Dumba is an absolute stud offensively. Also isn't Roslovic your best forward prospect? Where does Appleton even fit in with your top 6 set in stone (I don't see Wheeler leaving WPG after his contract is up). He's a center and with Scheifele, Roslovic, and Little already on your roster there's isn't any room for Appleton. Petan is an undersized lefty, two things we already have a huge surplus of.

Roslovic has already played 10 and it's a foregone conclusion he'll be on the jets opening roster either at 2C, 3C or 3RW. As far as Appleton goes, he doesn't really fit into our top 6 but he's still an absolute stud. The jets were absolutely dominant through the latter half of the season and into the first two rounds of playoffs essentially icing three top six-worthy lines. In that vein of thinking Appleton could come in as our 3C/3RW for a long time. If that trade doesn't happen I don't think it's necessarily a bad thing. There will be no shortage of value thrown at Chevy for Trouba's RFA rights next season, and as long as he doesn't screw it up, the jets will be fine. Outside of the Trouba headache, not too many issues in Jetsland.
