Description
Just a thought I had of retaining money on Letang's contract for Oilers, who are looking for that PP QB RHD and that first line LW. Petry wouldn't want to go back to EDM but would probably like to go to Pitts. It's all assuming that no NTC interfere. Values can be worked on by adding picks... Your thoughts?

Kotkaniemi will start the season but will probably be sent back in Finland by November.

I actually really like this trade for all 3 teams. PIT needs up-and-coming scoring depth with a cheap cap hit and Scherbak might just provide that.
EDM gives up a lot but still receives Letang AND Max Pac.
MTL unloads a lot of players but they still receive a 1which they absolutely need. Unlikely such a blockbuster happens, but wow this would be interesting!

Edmonton does not take this trade. An aging Letang who seems to be hurt more than he's healthy and one year of Pacioretty is an insult for a young #1 Center for 7 more years. Who was also probably the Oilers best player during there playoff run.

I actually like this. Although if there is no extension on pacioretty it's risky. I say risky because I think playing with McJesus for one year could convince pacioretty to resign. Honestly he might score 50 with mcdavid as his centre.

Negative chance of that Edm trade happening. Come on Lehoulx!

Put yourself in EDM shoes. If you offered Draisaitl to any of the 30 teams, would your offer be the best one? A 30+ Letang who has health issues that could come up at any time. An unsigned Pacioretty who frankly even if he was signed is not worth too much more as he will be over paid on his next contract, and DLR who is prospect with a ceiling of a 3rd-4th liner at best...

Daisaitl is 22 years old. locked up for 7 more years and is a big center who puts up 70+ points a year. If im EDM, he would be untouchable.
