41 points in 59 games last season, 49 points already once in his career. With the cap going up, great deal and attractive trade piece for contenders this year and next.
Looks like the NYR are making a concerted effort to avoid signing any long-term contracts to players over the age of 25. First Hayes, now Spooner. Clearly they're looking 3-4 years down the road. No extension for Zuccarello yet either. He's definitely gonna be trade bait at the deadline this season coming up.
Perfect deal. Can play all positions, play on PP2 and get 40-50 pts for $4M is very good.
No he can't lol. He's a terrible centerman to start. He doesn't play defense, he can't win face-offs and he's a streaky point producer. At best the kids a #3LW whose best used as the half-wall on the PP.

He really isn't very good. He will put up empty secondary assists and is real streaky. He had 3 points in his last 12 games. If he is playing center, you are in trouble.

I know he isn't the best two-way guy but he improved on FO dot. He is a good top9 player.

The fact that him going 43% in the dot last year is considered an improvement says all you need to know. There is a reason that he typically takes around 200 FO a year
