First off dude, use some punctuation. It won't kill you and you'll be taken a little more seriously.

Secondly, BAHAHAHAHAHAHA. of course no one will believe this. Literally no one. Not one soul.

Drew Doughty is the best hockey player in the world, and you're giving up a rental, a first (and here'es the craziest part, NOT EVEN THE THIRD OVERALL. Like montreal goes, oh no, we want to hold onto that pick, you can take our pick next year, and LA was like oh okay sure) and a second. It is laugh out loud funny that you think a single person would believe that. What are you? 8?

Agree with everything you said, now lets pretend he was right for just a second. Drew doughty wouldn't have signed an extension and would be gone as a UFA next summer LOL. No way in hell this would happen.

I hav to disagree with you. McDavid is the best player in the world. And Hedman is the best Defenseman in the And right now.

my feeling is that the best player in the world is always the best defensemen in the world. Drew Doughty is DEEEEEEEFinitely the best defensemen in the world. That being said, nah, Crosby still has the edge on McJesus

Listen, hedman is great. That being said he's just not even in the same league as doughty. I think you've got to watch Doughty more, he controls the pace of the game like no defensemen in the league, and really like no other d man since Lidstrom

McDavid has won exactly nothing in his career and is at best indifferent in the defensive end. Crosby has three cups and is still at the top of his game. If you quantify "the best" as the guy with the most points then I guess he wins but I'd rather win cups. I do think he will eventually be the best but not yet. I'd say Doughty and Hedman are currently the two best defensemen in hockey with little space between the two.

Yeah and stats are for losers, right? Winners count their cup rings.

Hmmm. So does that mean that Larkin is a loser and a ass player then? That means Stamkos, Kucherov, Sergachev, Hedman, Point are all losers and are ass players

Ovechkin won the MVP in 2008 and 2009 but Datsyuk was the best player in the league both those years and took his team to the cup both years.

Dude calm down. I disagree with you...it's not the end of the world. You don't have to take down all your McDavid posters. Oh and by the way all the other players you mentioned have been much more successful than McDavid in the wins column except Larkin (not sure why you keep bringing up that strawman) who plays on a rebuilding team.

Let me preface this by saying McDavid is awesome.

I'm of the opinion that Crosby might be the best hockey player to ever live. I know, I know, blasphemy, but instead of racking up points in meaningless games, the guy just wins. The past three years he's kind of gone through the motions for the first 40 games, and then just ramped it up when the games mattered, and dragged his team to two straight cups, and a solid run. He is the epitome of a winner, he does everything well. The guy is a grinder. It sounds weird, but he is. He's just a grinder that's capable of scoring 50 goals. He adapts to whatever his team needs, and he's lifted a lot of trophies.

oh, and he's also 5th all time in points per game.

This was a solid debate, you're ruining it by sounding like a jackass and a moron. stop this, and go back to just discussing things please.

If I’m not mistaken, the Hart is for the “player judged most valuable for HIS team”, which Ovechkin apparently was those two seasons. As far as winning Cups, which is the whole purpose of playing I guess, it takes an entire team and a bunch of good fortune, not a few superstars.

no it isn't. I think he's saying that people (sorry, i'm going to be a dick for a minute here) that say "BUT HE HAS MORE POINTS HE'S BETTER WOOOOOO POINTS," like you, are losers. People that pay attention to the game realize there is far more to it than that. Hockey games are won in the corners, in the gap control, and a million other things. It isn't always just who gets the pretty goal.
