Well under the circumstances of Carolina fans saying he was “expendable” it’s not surprising what happened there.

Next is Faulk. Canes are going to be trying to reach the cap minimum!

Yea this trade wasn't very good.

Not get a first was really bad.

That Forward group looks very weak, especially the bottom 6.

Defense looks mad good though, maybe they move Justin Faulk for a Skinner replacement, but tbh they'd have been better off keeping Skinner at least to the TDL and just moving Justin Faulk before the season started for either picks, prospects, or a one for one swap for a another good scoring Forward

Ill say it again, id rather Buffalo gave up Nylander than Pu. Canes got a decent prospect and saved some money. They should look to flipping Faulk for a top 6 C now. They are still stacked with talent

No, that is the biggest mistake a GM can make. You don't risk injury or a bad start to the season to go to the TDL especially when the player knows he likely will get moved or won't get re-signed.

I wonder if caniac2000 changes his trade value for Slavin now. Jesus, what a crappy deal.

Again, they are locked in for seven years due to the sale.

.

As a comparison....when Colorado traded Duchene they got:

- 2 x 1st round picks / prospects (one will be a top-5 pick).
- 3 x 2nd round picks / prospects
- 1 x 3rd round pick
- 1 x average backup goalie

And Duchene was was coming off a 41 points season...and was kind of acting like a prick.

Interesting stuff Carolina....very interesting.
