31 Thoughts: Arizona Coyotes (2/31)

Description
The Arizona Coyotes made quite the splash this offseason.
Firstly, acquiring Alex Galchenyuk for struggling promising
forward Max Domi. Then they take on the Marian Hossa contract
from the Hawks for a promising Jordan Oesterle.
They also signed Michael Grabner for 3 years and extended
OEL long-term.

The problem with the Yotes is that they are awaiting for
their young talent to break out. We have yet to see the
full potential of Dylan Strome, Christian Fischer, Lawson Cruise
Brendan Perlini and Christian Dvorak. This year might bt
the season for a lot of these guys to prove their worth.

I think Chucky starts off at #2 C but plays his way up to
#1. Him and Stepan make a great 1-2. Keller continues to
dominate and Grabner provides 17-25 goals playing within the
1st to 2nd line. Chucky alone can provide 30 goals and 60-70pts.
He is that good.

What Arizona really hopes is that Dylan Strome has a breakout
season. He looks poised for success and we can maybe see
that this season.

Onto defense, the Yotes still have superstars OEL signed for
many many more years. Going with that is Jakob Chychrun
and a young Jordan Oesterle.
The solid veteran presence from Hjalmarsson, Demers and Goligoski
will do these kids well as they will learn appropriately.

Raata will also continue to play well as he is a heavily
underrated goalie.

All in all, I see the Arizona Coyotes take a wildcard spot and
squeak into the playoffs.
Even if they don't, they flip Hjalmarsson at the deadline for
picks+prospects.

Considering they just extended Hjalmarsson (with a full NMC), I doubt he would be moved in the near future. I like what Chayka has done and his vision is clearly starting to come together

Hinostroza was the main piece in the Hossa trade. Also can't see him as the fourth line centre when they just resigned Richardson and have Cousins. Likely starts as Gally's RW i'd think.
https://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/nhl/six-early-nhl-breakout-candidates-watch-2018-19/ (last player mentioned is Hino)
Hammer is Chychs partner by the end of last year as well with Demer's playing well with OEL

personally think

Panik-Stepan-Keller
Perlini-Gally-Hino
Grabner-Dvorak-Fischer
Crouse/ Cousins-Strome-Richardson/Archibald

OEL-Demers
Chych-Hammer
Goli-Oesterle/Connauton

and still think they'll suck on the PP because they don't have anyone great at gaining the offensive zone on the breakout. Drafting Hughes would have been great to fix their PP in my opinion.

I agree with much of what you say. But it's time for those young guys to be good NHLer instead of just prospects. Am I the only one that thinks OEL's new contract which starts next year at age 28 and runs for eight years may not be the bargain many think it is.
