Not close to enough value, TT is extremely important to Carolina. Plus your adding Faulk who should get a top 10 protected pick back himself. Saad had a down year, Rutta and Gustafsson have inflated values and Sikura has not made a mark in the professional game yet.

So I guess Faulks 30 point season with a +/- rating of -26 is a up season for him?? Something doesn’t add up there.

If you take the Saad and Rutta (Faulks replacement in the trade) and swap them for Faulk in a 1 for 1 deal I think Carolina is getting a very generous offer considering what they got for skinner.

Then If you take the second part of the trade, which is Sikura (Top Forward Prospect) , a top 20 pick, and a plug bottom pairing defenseman for a top 6 forward who just started to make strides in his offensive game this year.

I don’t see how you could say that the value isn’t close, because it looks to me like a fair hockey trade.

Compare Seabrook to Faulk and you get

    26 points, -3 rating

    31 points, -26 rating

Both played top 4 minutes last season.

No thanks from this Hawks fan. To me Saad and Tuevo are a wash. Last year was probably a peak for Teuvo and a valley for Saad and going forward I suspect they are quite comparable in production with Saad having an advantage in the non scoring aspects of the game (Teuvo will be making a salary in the same zip code as Saad after this season). Sikura very well might be a 20 goal 40 point guy this season. Rutta with a full year under his belt in NA very well may outproduce Faulk (or certainly won't be THAT much worse in his production to warrant all the other pieces) if he stays healthy. Gus is a legit #6/7 NHL dman so hardly a throwaway. The Hawk first if things go wrong (Crawford isn't right, an injury or two, etc) could end up smack dab in the LoseForHughes sweepstakes.

So after you take out Saad and Teuvo cause I don't see either team moving either player, I think that first, a pretty good forward prospect close to if not NHL ready, and a couple solid NHL dman (even if Carolina is flipping them as they obviously don't need that in a return) is to much for Faulk.

I actually wouldn’t do this trade if I had the option to, I just wanted to make a fair trade between two teams that have assets that could benifit one another.

You can try argueing Faulks value but other teams would just outbid you then. Don't take the Skinner trade into account. Skinner nixed 3 deals and Carolina started getting low balled and took the best one that Skinner would approve. Seabrook also has a ton of years left on a huge cap hit

My offer is a pretty darn good one, Carolina hasn’t traded Faulk yet because they either haven’t gotten any good offers, which would imply the actual demand for his services is down more than cap friendly users suspect, or because their front office is asking too much in return.

They also said they aren't trying to trade him, they could be getting offers on Pesce, or maybe they really want to go into the season with a stack d

Even if you move Pesce, whichever of Hamilton/Faulk is not getting their 3 minutes a game of PP time is not going to be a happy camper (spoiler alert...it won't be the new guy just traded for). Like Skinner, I think the return for Faulk will disappoint when he is moved.
