Clear cap space

Team: 2019-20 New York Islanders
Initial Creation Date: Jul. 18, 2018
Published: Aug. 6, 2018
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Idea here is to clear some space by moving Leddy and replace with young defense (Dobson, Pulock, Toews, Aho. With extra sign #2 center (here, Carlson, but could be someone else in range). Trading young wing and D for 3d line center - still over $13 million for Barzal and more.

Your signings of Wahlstrom and Dobson are improper. They can only have $925K max hits for 3 year ELCs. Minor oops. And to give up OW would be a huge mistake, IMO, He is a goal scorer! Although he’s just a prospect right now playing NCAA, 40 red lights in the near future for the Isles are not out of the question, IMO!

Yea, I see that. As I posted I realized I'd get killed as a GM for trading Wahlstrom - but can't figure out how to get a decent center on the roster - besides praying that Kovar is the real deal. Thanks

1) You have to compensate Vegas for Karlsson.
2) Those ELCs literally go against the CBA
3) Nick Leddy is worth WAY more than that
4) I hope that Stars trade was an accident

1) point was to show Isles can sign a center for $7 million, anyone who thinks these are exact rosters doesn't get it - it's a GM concept idea. Frankly, might be worth a 1 2 3 anyway as they really have zero center support
2) Stop it. Point is they are signing cheap on ELCs.
3) Leddy was arguably the worst defender on the team last year, more than just +/-
4) Again this is a concept - they have to figure out how to get a solid center at a reasonable price. Trading for a first round pick who got better every year for a team that has wing talent and projected to have no center
5) I hope in life you bring solutions not just point errors - I run a pretty large group in a well regarded firm - I fire guys like that all of the time.

Good luck and look forward to see a better way to get centers!
